It All Started with a Bead & a Dream...

Has anyone ever told you that beauty is without limits? Have you ever had a passion for fashion? Well, Gaetana Parris has. Gaetana graduated from the Katherine Gibbs School with an Associate’s Degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising. Fresh out of college in 2004 with free-time on her hands, she started to do freelance work as a freelance fashion designer. She thought it would be great to try her hands at making jewelry, starting out with jewelry making. Her parents noticed what she was doing and her father being a NYC vendor encouraged her to make a board and sell her merchandise at his location. Before she knew it, her jewelry was selling out and even given the opportunity to create custom pieces for some of her father’s regular customers.

In 2007, Gaetana made the moved from her hometown, Brooklyn, NY, to sunny Florida where she finally decided to take the leap to start her own company. She initially dreamed of starting her business designing apparel, but instead decided to start with accessories. Satin Doll & Co. was born.

It has been a journey, but a fun one during the 10 years Gaetana has been designing jewelry and the nine years in business. Gaetana prides herself in making each piece with tender loving care. She has learned that making jewelry is a true learning process, where you're consistently learning to use new techniques and materials. Every aspect of each piece is hand selected from the beads, wire, findings and pendants. She prides herself and making her customers happy and satisfied. It has been her personal mission to make sure that each and every customer is satisfied, even long after their purchase has been received.

She’s become known for her colorful, earthy, and fashionable, yet versatile pieces. But she is slowly branching out into more personalized and dainty pieces because not everyone can wear one of her “in your face pieces”.

Slowly but surely she’s making it back to her “roots” of apparel design with her line of fabric hair accessories and other types of accessories. Don't worry! She won't leave jewelry behind. They're her heart and what she’s become known for.

With her love of all things creative, she has branched out into stationary, consisting of planner folders, die cuts,paper clips and charms. The world is your oyster and Gaetana plans on enjoying each piece of it and sharing her creations with the world far and wide.
